My Principles

I believe that food is deeply rooted to our health and happiness. Here are the five principles that I live and work by:

01.

Helping you to
find joy in food

For me, food is one of life’s great pleasures, providing unmeasured amounts of comfort and joy.

Unfortunately, diet culture has demonised certain food groups, which can lead to an unhealthy cycle of restriction, followed by over-indulgence and guilt. Instead of cutting out certain foods, I encourage clients to eat an abundance of fresh, colourful and seasonal produce that will leave you feeling nourished and satisfied. I’ll spend time finding out what your food loves (and loathes!) are, and how we can build these preferences into a balanced food plan. I will give you recipes, tips and tricks to make your kitchen a happy place!

02.

Meeting you
where you’re at

Yes, in an ideal world we’d all be making our own hummus, but most of us have full, busy lives, with limited time for food shopping and prep. I will help set you up for success with realistic, achievable goals. I will always meet you where you’re at – whether you’re raring to go with a complete diet overhaul, or need a more gradual approach, I will support you with a plan that fits into your unique lifestyle.

03.

Inspiring lifelong habits

I know first-hand that making diet and lifestyle changes can be hard. I think it’s all about small, sustainable changes that over time can add up to lifelong behaviour change. I will help you to build the foundations of nutrition that will stand you in good stead not just for your immediate health goals, but far into the future.

04.

Using evidence-based nutrition

With the sheer volume of nutritional information out there, it can be incredibly confusing to know what to eat. With Dr Google at our fingertips, we can often find ourselves overwhelmed with conflicting information about the ‘best’ or ‘worst’ diets, and media reporting of scientific papers can be misleading.

I am here to sift through this information for you, using scientific evidence to find the best dietary and lifestyle recommendations for you.

05.

Looking at the
whole picture

Diet is a fundamental pillar of health, but it’s not the only one! Eating the ‘perfect’ diet may not make any difference if you are ignoring other lifestyle factors like sleep, stress and movement.

Together we will explore these other lifestyle factors to see how they can support your health and help you achieve your health goals.
